How a Site File is Created
A Site File integrates
an orthophoto of a site with its associated oblique
photos. For most relevant geographic locations,
orthophotos are available from mapping archives.
Obliques can be taken from any type of plane or light
aircraft with any type of camera (digital, film,
mapping, non-mapping, etc.). New oblique photos are
taken according to a pre-determined flight plan the same
as for any other aerial photography project. New
acquisition of oblique photos for a mid-sized city
requires only a few flight hours.
Once the orthophoto
and the obliques are in place, the images are processed
into a complete site file. This is a simple, short
procedure that may take from several hours to a couple
of days. The complete Site File is integrated with the
MultiVision viewer, downloaded onto a CD and sent to the
customer. |
